The Run.Clinic completes the service for trail runners and outdoor enthusiasts alike with massage therapy and pilates classes – part of the growing offering from Run. Coed y Brenin

Massage is becoming a more important tool for runners in combating injury, relieving stressed muscles, aiding the recovery process and generally keeping the body in good condition

Providing the massage service at the Run.Clinic on Thursdays and Saturdays (when available) is Katie Cole, a runner and qualified Swedish and Sport & Remedial Massage therapist

Katie’s experience as a soft tissue therapist began in Scotland, where she qualified as a Level 3 Swedish massage therapist. She has since continued to develop her skills and knowledge of body work and is subsequently undertaking a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Clinical Remedial and Sports Massage with the London School of Sport Massage (LSSM), which will allow her to work to the highest level within the industry

Katie’s caring nature draws her to help remedy soft tissue injuries and postural imbalances for people from all walks of life. Her passion for sport and physical therapies stems from her time as a gymnast, competing at a national level during her younger years. More recently, Katie has developed a love for long distance running in both road and trail marathons and ultra marathons

The pilates classes are provided by local Level 3 Instructor Andrea Vaughan. As a runner, swimmer and triathlete Andrea appreciates the benefits that pilates can bring to an active person’s daily life

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture, and enhance mental awareness

Classes will re-start on Thursday the 29th of October and Andrea will have weekly 1 hour group sessions costing just £5 starting at 5:30pm. Participants should bring their own mat where possible, however Andrea will have a number of mats for use at the sessions
