Goldrush Trail entries to go live
The Goldrush trail is one of the jewels in the Run. Coed y Brenin running trails offering. Not only is it challenging, but it also offers some of best views in the whole of the Coed y Brenin forest.
In 2015 we at Run. Coed y Brenin worked in tandem with the Mawddach Rotary club in Dolgellau to deliver a very successful race, which received some great feedback after the event last April. Next year the race will be added into the Run. Coed y Brenin events roster, and be known as the Goldrush Trail race.
One thing that won’t change will be the association with the Rotary club. Mawddach Rotary club member Derek Hawes states:
“We’re really pleased to be working with Matt and Run. Coed y Brenin to take the Goldrush race to new heights. Organising quality races is his speciality and we look forward seeing the race develop into another great trail running event at Coed y Brenin”.
“Charities and good causes will benefit locally as a donation from each runner’s entry fee will go to us to be distributed after the event. We will also be on hand to marshal at various locations and give as much encouragement to the runners as they face the Goldrush journey!”
Next Monday (7th December) will see entries to the 2016 race go live.
Taking place on the 23rd of April the Goldrush race is in it’s third year, and for 2016 the Goldrush will be brought under the umbrella of Run. Coed y Brenin and sit alongside the Salomon Trail Marathon Wales, Buff Winter Trail Wales and Petzl Night Trail Wales events in our roster of fantastic trail races across the calendar at Coed y Brenin.
The 2016 race will once again also incorporate the Goldrush Canicross race for dogs and their owners.
With its stunning 8.5 miles of ascents and descents through glades of silver birch, a full 1 mile stretch of singletrack heaven via the Pink Heffer descent, panoramic views to the Rhinogau across the Copper Bog section and the hypnotic waterfalls of the Afon Mawddach, this is one trail race not to be missed!
Entries to the 2016 Goldrush Trail race open on Monday the 7th of December via the entry link, with further event details via the Goldrush Trail page
